Divine Mercy Church
- KENNER, LA
DIVINE MERCY CHURCH COMPLEX
This 21,400-square-foot parish complex was developed to unify two existing church communities into a single campus in Kenner, supporting worship, administration, education, and community gathering functions.
The campus includes a large sanctuary, a mezzanine choir loft, a parish hall, a rectory, and connected support spaces designed to create a cohesive and highly functional church environment.
Structural coordination focused on achieving large open worship spaces and high vaulted ceilings through the use of a custom steel moment frame system capable of resisting significant hurricane wind loads while maintaining unobstructed interior sightlines throughout the sanctuary.
The project also required extensive civil engineering coordination due to challenging soil conditions in South Louisiana and the large-scale site development associated with the new campus. Civil scope included parking and circulation design, subsurface drainage infrastructure, grading, and stormwater management systems, all designed to support long-term site performance and code compliance in a high-rainfall coastal environment.
The completed parish complex provides a resilient and modern church campus designed to support worship, community engagement, and long-term parish growth.
