LSU STUDENT UNION RENOVATION

This project involved a major renovation and expansion of the LSU Student Union, focused on modernizing core campus gathering spaces while integrating new construction within the existing 1960s structure.

The scope included approximately 44,000 square feet of interior renovation and a 3,600-square-foot addition constructed with cast-in-place concrete and structural steel systems. The project required extensive coordination between new and existing structural elements, upgraded building systems, and reconfigured student spaces while maintaining compatibility with the original building framework.

Renovations included updated dining and retail areas, collaborative student organization spaces, improved circulation, and modernized public gathering areas designed to support increased campus activity and long-term functionality. Structural coordination also played an important role in integrating the new addition with the existing concrete structure while accommodating independent building movement and long-term performance requirements.

The completed renovation transformed the Student Union into a more functional, connected campus environment designed to support student interaction, daily activities, and future campus growth.
