Completed in 2019, the Valdry Center for Philanthropy at Southern University is an 11,000-square-foot academic facility designed to support education, research, and professional training focused on nonprofit leadership and philanthropy.
The building includes classrooms, administrative offices, a large auditorium, collaborative event spaces, and an outdoor terrace designed to support both academic and community functions. Structural coordination was essential in supporting flexible gathering spaces, open interior environments, and the integration of indoor and outdoor event areas within a modern campus setting.
As the first center of its kind at an HBCU, the completed facility provides a dedicated environment for learning, collaboration, and leadership development while supporting Southern University’s continued academic growth.
