The Hub at ULM
- MONROE, LA
THE HUB AT ULM
Completed in 2022, The Hub was developed as a modern student union and dining facility designed to serve as a central gathering space for the University of Louisiana Monroe campus.
The approximately 23,000-square-foot facility combines dining, study, collaboration, and social spaces in a highly open, flexible student environment. Structural coordination focused on creating large open-span gathering areas, cantilevered exterior canopy systems, rooftop terrace access, and extensive glass curtain wall systems designed to maximize visibility, circulation, and natural light throughout the building.
The facility also required significant coordination between structural, architectural, and MEP systems to support multiple commercial food service vendors, integrated technology infrastructure, and high daily occupancy demands. Specialized utility coordination included commercial kitchen systems, under-slab utility routing, exhaust infrastructure, drainage systems, and acoustically separated study environments within the multi-level facility.
Exterior site integration and circulation were also key components of the project, including covered gathering areas, outdoor seating zones, and pedestrian connectivity within a highly active campus corridor.
The completed facility provides a modern student-centered environment designed to support dining, collaboration, campus activity, and long-term university growth.
