Fox-Nesbit Engineering Marks 20 Years of Growth Across Louisiana and the Gulf South
Twenty years after Travis Fox and Ryan Nesbit founded a small structural engineering practice in Louisiana, Fox-Nesbit Engineering is entering its third decade as a multidisciplinary regional firm with more than 30 employees, 17 licensed professionals, and a growing project portfolio across Louisiana and the Gulf South.
The company's 20th anniversary comes amid continued expansion. In recent years, Fox-Nesbit Engineering has grown its presence in Lafayette and North Louisiana, established a presence in Florida, elevated new leaders within the firm, and launched its first formal summer internship program. The firm is also launching a new website that showcases the company's broader capabilities, people, and geographic reach.
“When Ryan and I started Fox-Nesbit Engineering, our focus was simple: do good work, take care of our clients and develop lasting relationships,” said Travis Fox, Principal. “Twenty years later, those same values still guide us.”
Founded in 2006, Fox-Nesbit Engineering initially focused on structural engineering for commercial construction projects. In 2015, the firm added a full-service civil engineering division, allowing it to provide more integrated solutions throughout the design and construction process.
Geographic expansion has been a key part of the firm's growth over the past two decades. Fox-Nesbit Engineering opened its New Orleans office in 2017, expanded into Lafayette in 2023 and Ruston in 2024, and established a Florida presence in 2025. The Ruston office, located in Tech Pointe I on the Louisiana Tech University campus, has strengthened the firm's ability to serve clients and projects throughout North Louisiana.
Over the past two decades, Fox-Nesbit Engineering's teams have helped with major educational, healthcare, commercial, and religious projects across Louisiana, including:

- Grambling University New Digital Library — Grambling, Louisiana
The firm's growth has also included steady investment in leadership and talent development. Gabriel Broussard became a principal in 2022, and John Guidry was named New Orleans Office Leader in 2023. In 2026, Fox-Nesbit Engineering expanded its administrative team and launched its first formal summer internship program.
