PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE:
Mr. Nesbit has a wide variety of experience in structural engineering. He worked with McKee & Deville Consulting Engineers, Inc. for seven years prior to joining Travis Fox to form Fox-Nesbit Engineering, LLC. During his time worked at McKee & Deville, Mr. Nesbit worked directly with Dr. Dean C. McKee, Ph. D., P.E., until his retirement. In that time he managed the design and production of structural plans and was intimately involved in the construction administration for a vast array of structure types, including office buildings, commercial buildings, renovations, residences, parking garages, churches, schools, mechanical platforms and buildings, and site work, e.g. retaining walls, fountains, pavements, mechanical and electrical pads, parking lots, pedestrian and vehicular bridges and exterior concrete work.
Some of the more notable projects Mr. Nesbit was involved in while employed at McKee & Deville are: The Galvez State Office building; The Galvez Parking Garage; The Shaw Center for the Arts; The State Garage (Corner of Third and Convention Streets); Irene W. Pennington Planetarium; McKinley High School Alumni Association (Renovation of Old McKinley High School Building); Bon Carre Business Center; The Cox Communications Academic Center for Student Athletes, LSU; St. George Church and School New Gymnasium; Copper Mill Elementary School, Zachary, LA; St. Martha’s Church, Harvey, LA; Evangeline St. Fire Station; Lake Surgery Center; Most Blessed Sacrament Church. Mr. Nesbit also has experience in other engineering disciplines. Prior to working for McKee & Deville, he worked for Nesbit Engineering, Inc., Henry Eyre Consulting Engineering, Ferris Engineering and Surveying, and Belcher-Chesson-Nesbit, Inc. He performed electrical and mechanical (HVAC and plumbing) design, surveying and drafting for a total period of six years. This experience gives Mr. Nesbit an uncommon knowledge on how individual building systems are designed and constructed, including how all aspects of buildings affect each other and how they work together.
Throughout his years of experience in the design industry, Mr. Nesbit has come to understand the requirements of many different aspects of building design. He is well equipped to handle the design and execution of any type or size of building. He has a reputation of working closely with architects and contractors to ensure that all parties are on track and on the same page during the design and construction processes. His field experience gives him the knowledge and credibility required to work with construction personnel to produce positive results and successful projects.
